In order to find out about my potential target audience, I have decided to create a survey/questionnaire using surveymonkey.com and sent it to a number of fellow students from the Sixth Form I study in. ( see E-mail below)
I analysed the feedback from the survey in order to get an idea of what audience to target and will later explore potential idea outcomes as to how i m going to present my magazine and what it will be about, feature etc...
From this I can clearly observe that most of the survey participants are female with a still significant presence of males, based on these results, I will have a magazine that is hybrid and talks about both male and female fashion with slightly more emphasis on female fashion.
As clear as it is, students between the age of 17-18 dont read magazines quite often in the exception of a few who read magazines monthly, which lead to my decision of creating 2 subsequent monthly issues of a magazine.
This question's aim was to obtain an answer from both the non-magazine readers and magazine readers as to how often they would prefer to read a magazine regardless of if they currently do or not, this further strengthened my intent to produce 2 subsequent monthly issues.
This question was to find out about how much 17-18 year olds were committed to spending money on clothes monthly which gives me a slight idea of what kind of clothing will be featured on the magazine covers, seeing that the average is between £0 and £200 but the most common answer being £0-£50 advises me to choose clothes from low end fashion between the price of £15-£115.
This question tells me that most people are interested in reading high-end fashion magazines, however a significant number of people would prefer low-end or do not mind whether it is high or low-end fashion, in conclusion I decided to potentially feature both high and low-end clothing
Considering the extreme variety of brands that came out of answers, I decided to keep a tally to see whicc brands came up the most ( highlighted in yellow), I now have a brief idea of potential brands I could feature or have my models wear.
The results being quite even suggested to me that I could explore 2 different social groups which in this case may be men and women with a hint of religion, the message that I would like to be conveying would be that women and men of all religions are no different to each other and therefore equal.
Once again with a quite diverse range of answers, I created a tally highlighting the most common answers, this helped me find out what low-end/popular brands my models could wear.

Based on the results in Q9, I decided to focus on keeping the fashion featured on my magazine/models on a budget and add a hint of novelty and perhaps add traditional clothing from different religious groups.
Whilst asking students about how much they're willing to spend, it is only natural that they would choose the lowest price, however, a few did show will to spend more than £4 on a magazine which indicates to me that sutdents interested in fashion and committed to it are more likely to spend more than £4 than students reading magazines to 'kill time' for instance.
To conclude, analysing the feedback from the survey I created has helped me in building an idea or image of what my audience would expect or wish to see in a magazine, it also gave me a very brief idea of possible social groups and brands that could be featured or represented by models.
