Contact sheet

Here you can observe all of the pictures I have taken during my photoshoot, the ones highlighted are the ones I have chosen to use for my covers, content pages and website. These pictures are appropriate as I believe they were the most able to represent the atmospheres of Christmas and New Years Eve, the camera angles were warm and inviting for the Christmas photos, as well as warm lightin. As to the NYE photos, these are the ones that executed the idea I had in mind along with my Japanese VOGUE cover edition of a family of different backgrounds ( See Evaluation of progress post).

Website analysis

For my website analysis I have chosen to analyse the website for GQ and VOGUE as my demographic is both male and female which is accurately represented in both GQ and VOGUE. My research results observable on the pictures have led me to be inspired on the creation of my website, I now have an brief idea of what my website will include, this will be: A main bar with named sections to navigate across the website a Centred logo or Masthead at the top of the page Clear fonts that are easily readable Use of pictures to accompany text and articles Some sort of link to a subscription page A social media bar where users can find linked accounts for IDEM.

Evaluation of progress & Website planning

In the development and creation of my coursework, I have planned a photoshoot, created two front covers and then re-drafted these, as well as two contents pages, the pictures I have used across my Christmas products were fully original as they were not inspired by anything I had looked, however, for the NYE cover, I was inspired by an edition of Japanese VOGUE as pictured below. This was clearly the way to go in my opinion as it exactly represented the way I felt towards fashion, a multitude of models from different backgrounds all standing together as a family. Due to a number of limitations, my photoshoot was not the most ideal as it had to take place in a normal house that had no fashion aspect whatsoever, I therefore used mise-en...

Second Draft of Magazine products

This is my second draft of Magazine covers with updated details as well as the accompanying contents pages.

Font exploration for Magazine products

On this post I show the fonts that I have tested for my magazine covers: Font 1 : Impact Font 2 : Algerian Font 3: Arial Nova Font 4: Elephant Font 5: Rockwell Nova Font 6: Agency FB Font 7: Segoe Script The final decision I made considering what font(s) to use was using Rockwell Nova because I found it to be a variation of a serif font that did not look too childish or too serious thus appealing to my target audience and demographic as it just seems simple and classic but yet sophisticated. My original products has used the SEGOE SCRIPT font, after feedback from peers and teachers, it was pointed out to me that this font wasn't appropriate to the world of fashiion magazines as it looked almost childish or unserious hence why I have decided to use Rocwell Nova for my next covers draft and contents pages.
