Prop List

When it comes to props, I tried to keep it quite minimal in order not to differ from the fashion genre of the magazine brief: Christmas Cover: For the Christmas cover, I have simply used my models' Christmas jumpers as well as a Christmas tree for the simple idea of creating a Christmas atmosphere/ambiance to fit the theme of my magazine edition. New Years Eve Cover: As to my NYE cover, I have purchased two items to create a NYE ambiance: A ' Happy New Year' banner for the background to show the audience what the date is. Red American Party Cups to imply the American idea of partying which can be signified or represented by the symbol of red cups. These red cups are typically used by teenagers and young adults at parties thus appealing to my target audience.

Introduction to models

Sam Kemp: Age:18 Birthday: 03/09/2000 Ethnicity: White  Rufus North Age: 17 Birthday: 18/06/2001 Ethnicity: White Lauren Harvey: Age: 18 Birthday: 10/10/2000 Ethnicity: White Maddy Stevens: Age:18 Birthday: 03/11/2000 Ethnicity: White Aneeka Choudhry: Age:18 Birthday: N/A Ethnicity: Bengali Paula Benyon: Age: 18 Birthday: 30/10/2000 Ethnicity:  White South African I have used models of the age of 17-18 in order to suit my audience of millenials and older, however, in my attempt to represent different social groups, I have found myself limited to two models of different ethnicity than simply British white, Aneeka who comes from Bangladesh and Paula who comes from South Africa. I have chosen these models as I believe they are of appropriate use in the representation of different social groups as required by the coursework brief.

Location exploration

For my location exploration, the main site for the photoshoot was Paula Benyon's house, I have used different camera angles and mise-en-scene to make it look like each picture I used for my covers and contents pages wouldnt appear as if they were the exact same showing a lack of creativity or innovation. On these pictures you can see how I explored potential camera shots I could use for my covers and explored ideas on what to include as props in these. Christmas Cover : These shots are all very similar, my objective was to photoshoot pictures of a typical Christmas with a play on age as I used two models wearing quite childlike Christmas jumpers but posing as if they were adults with a serious stance and pose. I have done this to criticise stereotypical views on teenagers, the idea that young people are immature and cannot act as adults. New years Eve cover: This is the only shot that most accurately shows the kind of camera angle I planned to use...
